The Five Bells Inn is a wonderful example of the quintessential English country pub; serving fine wine and real ale, delicious food and above all a thoroughly warm welcome.

Situated in the beautiful village of Whitchurch Canonicorum, The Five Bells is a true haven for those wanting an escape to the country.

The original Five Bells was built some time in the 1700's and was so named because the local church, St Candida and Holy Cross, had - at the time - only five bells within its tower. It now holds eight - often heard as we have a very active local group of enthusiastic bell ringers

On November the 5th 1904 the building was consumed by fire but was rebuilt in 1905. The only original part of the building is the flagstone area you walk upon as you enter the pub
